Your questions

What people often ask us

The real questions, with clear answers. Missing one ? Write to us and we'll answer.

Do I have to change supplier ?

No. You keep your supplier and your meter. BEES energy shares the energy produced in the neighbourhood on top of your current contract.

Is it really cheaper ?

Yes. Shared energy is billed at a rate set by the community to cover costs, with no commercial margin. That works out at roughly 8 to 10 cents per kWh less than a conventional supplier in Brussels.

Am I committing for a long time ?

No. There is no time commitment. You can leave the community whenever you wish, with no exit fees.

Who runs BEES energy ?

BEES energy is a non-profit association (ASBL/vzw), set up with the support of BEES coop. Decisions are made in the assembly, by the members.

Is the energy really renewable ?

Yes. The shared electricity comes from solar panels on rooftops in the neighbourhood. It is local and renewable.

Do I need any work done at home ?

No. No work is needed in your home. The sharing happens at the level of the neighbourhood grid.
